$382,000 in Scholarships Awarded
There are two sets of scholarships awarded to North Central State College students each year: those provided by the North Central State College Foundation; and institutional scholarships which include the Presidential Scholarship for Excellence (PSE) and the Academic Dean’s Scholarships (ADS). Financial need is a consideration for many scholarships (See Filling out the FAFSA sidebar).
Students wishing to apply for foundation scholarships for the upcoming school year should go to www.ncstatecollege.edu and click on “Foundation Scholarships” link under “Alumni & Foundation”. There is an apply button that will take you to the scholarship application used for all foundation scholarships.
Every student who applies to NC State is considered for institutional scholarships. Based upon your most recent transcript, your grade point average, class rank and composite ACT score will be considered for awards. NC State also will determine these awards earlier, so that you will know if you have been chosen as a PSE or ADS scholar before making your final choice of colleges.
For the 2013 – 2014 school year, more than 110 students received Foundation Scholarships, and 89 students were named either ADS or PSE scholars. These awards total more than $382,000 toward the education of both new and continuing students at North Central State College.
