Bioscience College-NOW is a Bioscience Academy that has been developed through a partnership between Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center, College Tech Prep, and North Central State College. This program offers a unique opportunity for qualified students to get on the fast track to earn an Associate of Applied Science in Bioscience Degree.
The Bioscience College-NOW curriculum has been designed to ensure that all students successfully graduate from high school with the opportunity to graduate with an Associates of Applied Science in Bioscience degree from North Central State College at the end of their second year of the program.
Junior and senior level high school students receive practical, hands-on instruction that involves the required coursework.
Students earn high school credit at the same time they complete their college coursework.
Students in this program will still be connected to their partner high school with all the benefits, including extra-curricular activities and sports.
Bioscience College-NOW is open to all students in the North Central College Tech Prep Consortium. Students enroll through Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center.
A Step Ahead
Successful graduates may be qualified to enter a 4-year university or go on to high skilled high pay employment.
The combined coursework is set up to provide students with both academics and job skills, at the same time.
Core academics are combined with hands-on technical skills in work-based settings.
Students are taught by teams of teachers from high school and college, along with professionals from the field.
Some class projects will take students out of the typical classroom and involve the community.
