Veterans attending North Central State College may be
eligible to receive benefits through the Department of Veterans
Affairs when pursuing most associate degree programs.

How to Apply for
Educational Benefits
- Determine if you are eligible for benefits. Call the VA
if you are uncertain (1-888-GI BILL-1). Note: each program
has individual requirements for eligibility
- Meet with the North Central State College VA Certifying
Official for information regarding the program and
application procedures. All applications should be submitted
online at
http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/education_forms.htm
.
- For the GI Bill (Chapter 30), complete an
application (Form 22-1990). Please note you
must submit a copy of your application and a copy of
your DD-214 with Member 4 showing "Honorable Discharge"
to the VA Certifying official .
- For Selected Reserve Educational Assistance
(Chapter 1606), complete an application (Form
22-1990). Please note you must submit a
copy of your application and a copy Notice of Basic
Eligibility ("NOBE" Form 2384 obtained through your
unit's Education Liaison) to the VA Certifying
official .
- For Vocational Rehabilitation (Chapter 31)
benefits, contact your local representative. The
Cleveland area number is 216-522-3536. The Columbus area
number is 614-469-6780.

For
Survivor & Dependents (Chapter 35) benefits,
complete the Application for Survivors' and Dependents'
Educational Assistance application (Form 22-5490).
Please note you must submit a copy of your application
to the VA Certifying Official.
- You will receive a Certificate of Eligibility. Submit
one copy to Financial Aid Office, located in Kee Hall.
- For each quarter, submit an NC State
Request for Veterans Benefits form after registering for
classes. Register and submit your paperwork
as early as possible to minimize
delays.

Ohio National
Guard
Scholarship
Students who have enlisted, re-enlisted or extended their
obligation for six years in the Ohio National Guard are eligible
to receive a grant to pay for 100 percent of their tuition.
Interested students should contact their local guard unit for
details and application procedures.
Award amount: Equal to 100% of
instructional and general fee charges
Enrollment required: 6 credit
hours or more

Eligible students receive an approval letter from the Ohio
Adjutant General's Office. A copy of this letter should be
submitted to Financial Aid Office, located in Kee Hall
Ohio War Orphans
The Ohio War Orphans
Scholarship Program awards tuition assistance to the children of
deceased or severely disabled Ohio veterans who served in the
armed forces during a period of declared war or conflict. . The
scholarship provides payment of tuition. To receive War Orphans
Scholarship benefits, a student must be enrolled for full-time
undergraduate study at an eligible Ohio college or university.
Ohio residency is required. Applicants must be under the age of
25Forms are available Online at the
Ohio Board of Regents website. Students must attend full-time (12 credit hours or more).
