Exit Interview

Whenever a staff member terminates employment, he/she will be scheduled for an interview with the Director of Human Resources. The purpose of the interview is to assess the staff memberís attitude toward the College, the supervisor, and the job in order to obtain suggestions for improvement.

An exit interview is an attempt to determine whether or not the College is serving the needs of its staff members, if its supervisors are effective managers, and to help evaluate the supervisorís managerial effectiveness and the College as an employer.

 EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

Call 3300 from any campus phone to report an emergency.  All campus telephones are connected to dedicated emergency telephones at the campus switchboards.  Receptionists are trained to respond appropriately.

REPORTING AN EMERGENCY

The receptionist will lead the caller through a script of questions.  The receptionist will then contact campus certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) volunteers, Campus Security, 911, etc., as appropriate.  The idea is to get help quickly, backing it up with help from 911 if needed.  Please use the campus 3300 number in preference to 911; usually 3300 will result in faster response.  This network is for emergency calls only

When the switchboard is closed, you can reach Campus Security directly by dialing 419-755-4346 from any NC State phone (4346 from an OSU-M phone).  If an emergency is life threatening, and the switchboard is closed, dial 911.

FIRE EVACUATION PROCEDURES

All staff members, except those assigned to fire control duties, are to evacuate the building immediately.  Evacuation will be conducted in accordance with the procedure posted in each room.

Staff will assist in directing students to use the nearest fire-free exit as posted, then leave with them.  Assistance will be provided for handicapped persons.

Staff members will remain outside at no less than 50 feet away from the building until instructed to re-enter.  The building Fire Warden in charge will be responsible for assuring that all areas are completely evacuated and for informing staff if and when the building can be re-entered.  It is important to remember in time of a fire and other emergency to have everyone leave the building by the quickest and safest route available.

DO NOT use the elevator in the event of a fire.
