Who is entitled to an e-mail account?
All currently “registered” students will be given an e-mail account.
What can the student’s e-mail account be used for?
The assigned e-mail account is primarily intended for communication between students and College staff and faculty. However, it is a full featured e-mail account and can receive any e-mail messages and attachments.
How long will my student account be active?
The student’s e-mail account will be made active in the quarter in which the student registers for any North Central State College credit course and will remain active as long as the student remains registered. Each fall quarter, all e-mail accounts and their contents will be purged and reinitialized for the coming academic year.
How can I access my student account?
The student e-mail system is an internet-based system and can be accessed at http://mail.ncstudent.net
Do I need special hardware or software requirements to access my student e-mail account?
The e-mail system is available to any computer that has access to the internet and is running an internet browser. No additional software or hardware is required.
How will my student e-mail account be named?
Your student e-mail address will be the first five letters of your last name, followed by the first initial of your first name, followed by your birth month and date (using 2 spaces for each). For example: If a student, Jessica Monroe, had an e-mail account with the birthday of September 8th, her e-mail address would be: monroj0908@ncstudent.net .
Can anyone get into my account?
Anyone can send you a message at your e-mail address. However, your account will be password protected and will not be accessible by anyone else to read messages unless you give them your password.
Yes! Your original password has been set to the last four digits of your social security number. North Central State College strongly recommends each student change their password the first time they log into their e-mail account by clicking on Options, then Password.
Where can I get help regarding accessing and using my student e-mail account?
The e-mail system has an extensive on-line help facility and specific logon and step-by-step access instructions are available at: www.ncstatecollege.edu/it/students
