NC State Web Strategy Team
Meeting Minutes - June 19, 2003

Present: Betty Wells, Keith Stoner, Peg Moir, Alice Harper & Michael Renock-Welker
Guest: Doug Hanuscin

- MRW Reviewed compiled results of Payroll stub survey and online feedback forms to date (see related documents). Also mentioned new "makeover" of site was accomplished Monday with inspiration from Keith. A relevant feature of the new site look is a Google-driven site search that will allow us to monitor what people are searching for. By monitoring this, we can have some good data as we move forward re-shaping the site.

- Doug Hanuscin then gave his summary for the "employee Services" function of the site. Doug stated that he did not receive much feedback, but shared with the group what he received form the Controller/Cashier's Office and his office. All of this feedback was in the form of what these areas would like to see on the site. Group thanked Doug for his efforts and Doug left the meeting.

- Peg Moir then shared the results of her efforts for the "Student services" function. She had not received feedback form all of her areas but had extensive input from Admissions and PAC (peg- could you post a copy to the group of your results??).

- Betty Wells then addressed the Marketing/Alumni function of the site and what her people had put together as far as what they want out of the web for this function. It was determined that Alumni functionality form the web should be dropped for the foreseeable future. (Betty could you also post to the group the details on your gang's findings?)

- As Matthew Cupach was not present, discussion of teaching/learning feedback was tabled to next meeting.

- Roundhouse discussion was then held on "the road from here." Amongst the wide-ranging discussion held, a few issues came up for the Team to next address:

  • Prioritize and evaluate feedback results "wish lists" to form strategic roadmap for site

  • Shared Services Sites and our guidance/development of them

  • Review of web site structure/"tree" organization

  • Review the page master program for how web content is updated

  • Review the web style guide

  • Investigate setting up page "templates"

- Next meeting was then tentatively set for 6/27 in the IA area.
