NC State Web Strategy Team
Meeting Minutes - 3/6/03

Present: Keith Stoner, Matt Cupach, Alice Harper, Peg Moir, Michael Renock-Welker & Betty Wells

* Re-worked 4 main strategic functions of website: Decided to Break out "employee Relations" into its own strategic function and folded alumni relations into marketing function.

* After much discussion, identified key stake holders for each of the strategic functions as follows:

- Marketing (alumni) - Betty

- Student Services - Peg

- Employee Svcs - Doug Hanuscin

- Teaching/Learning - Matthew

* Discussed approach to soliciting feedback from each of the identified stake holders. The "delegating" approach of giving each of the identified persons a overview of what we were trying to accomplish with some "prompts" to gather feedback for their area's function and report back to committee. MRW will approach the web-based education committee about volunteers to help Matthew in his effort to cover faculty for the teaching and learning aspect of the site. (think that we left this that I'd draft up some "prompts" and mail them around for discussion??)

* Further discussed trying to do a broad (paper?) survey of the entire NC state community on the use/functionality/feedback of the website. All agreed that everyone had a lot on their plate and "survey fatigue" currently, so tabled this until spring quarter.

* In interim, the team decided that to place a survey on the website would help start gathering feedback. The team then brainstormed on what questions to ask and came up with the following:

1) what are you (faculty staff/ etc/other)

2) how many times have you been to the nc state website

3) what are you trying to find on the website

2) what do you like about website

3) what do you not like about website

4) rate the site (1-10)

MRW will go about placing this on the site in the near future and will compile results to share with the team.

* Did not set a future meeting date for the time being as much of the short-term work could be accomplish electronically & the end of the quarter was approaching fast.
