Student Support Services
TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded grant program through the U.S. Department of Education. We serve eligible North Central State College students.
Mission Statement
The TRIO Student Support Services program provides and coordinates a variety of educational support services for students who are first generation, low-income and/or students with disabilities. The purpose of the program is to increase college retention, graduation and transfer rates for eligible members.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to encourage college degree attainment by cultivating and inspiring personal and academic excellence in participants.
Services Available
Eligibility
Eligibility is based on federally defined criteria where at least one of the following must be met:

A first generation college student (neither parent has a Bachelor’s degree)

Limited income as determined by the Federal Income Guidelines and/or
-
Have a documented learning or physical disability
In addition:
-
You must be registered for classes at North Central State College.

You must be enrolled in an Associate Degree or Certificate program at North Central State College.

You must be in good academic standing based on the requirements of North Central State College.

You cannot be on financial aid restriction.
-
You must demonstrate academic need.
-
You must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
-
You cannot have an Associate or Bachelor's degree.
All students admitted to the Student Support Services program must attend an initial orientation session and meet with their SSS advisor throughout the year. Students must also be committed to using SSS resources and graduating from North Central State College!

Applying for TRIO Services
To apply to the TRIO Student Support Services program, print and complete the application 
In addition to a completed SSS application, you must turn in the following:

Signed copy of the 2011 Federal Income Tax Return
-
Current Class Schedule (printed copy)
-
Completed Needs Assessment Survey

Completed applications can be returned to 121 Kee Hall or mailed to:

Only complete applications will be considered for services and does not guarantee admission to the program. Following an inital Intake Interview, students deemed eligible will be contacted by the program to complete the admission process.
