Student Privacy

North Central State College has the responsibility of protecting the content of a student’s educational record.  Educational records are defined as those records, files, documents and other materials which contain information directly related to the student and are maintained by the College.

Student record information may not be disclosed to others with the exception of school officials who have a legitimate educational interest.  The College does define some information as directory information which may be released to others.  Directory information includes the student’s name, local and permanent address, e-mail, telephone listing, date and place of birth, major field of study, class schedule, participation in officially recognized activities and sports, dates of enrollment, degrees and awards received, high school graduated from, and most recent educational agency or institution attended by the student.

Students do have the right to restrict the release and publication of this directory information by filing a written request to withhold directory information with the Office of Student Records.  Upon receipt of this request, no directory information will be released and will continue to be withheld until such time the student notifies the Office of Student Records in writing that he/she no longer wishes to have this information withheld.
