Logging In

 Step by Step

Use the Enter button at the top of this page to open the MyNC Main Menu.

Click the Log In tab on the MyNC Main Menu.

UserName

Your username consists of:

• The first five letters of your last name
• Followed by your first initial
• Followed by your middle initial (on September 14th). If you do not have a middle initial your username will not change.
• Followed by the month you were born (two digits)
• Followed by the day your were born (two digits)

For example: The username for a student named Jessica Ann Monroe, with a birth date of September 8th would be: monroja0908.

Password

Your password has been initially set to the last four digits of your Social Security number. The first time you log in, you will be required to change your password and will receive a message that your password has expired.  Your old password is what you used to get to this point and your new password must be 6-9 characters and contain at least one number. Symbols are not allowed.  You can not use your last 4 passwords

Hint Box: Use the Hint option when setting your password.  You can't enter your password as the hint but use something that jogs your memory.  Symbols are not allowed.

Locked Out?

Users will have five attempts at their password before their account is locked out.  Accounts locked due to failed password attempts will automatically reset after five minutes.

Forgot Your Password?

If you forget your password, follow the link What’s My Password on the MyNC Main Menu. If you reset your password, keep in mind MyNC remembers your four most recent passwords and will not let you reuse them.

Password Reset

You can reset your own password by following these steps:
a) Go to the Main menu of MyNC (no need to log in).
b) Click the "What's My Password?" link in the lower right corner.
c) Click "Reset my password" link.
d) Enter your last name and either your SSN or ID. The ID must contain the leading zeros. For example, if your ID is 500, you must enter 0000500. All IDs are 7 digits.
e) Select your email address from the drop-down list. The system will only display your primary email address in Encore. This address is @ncstatecollege.edu for employees and @ncstudent.net for students. YOU CAN NOT USE AN OUTSIDE ACCOUNT! If you have not been assigned a student email account yet please call the IT Help Desk to have your password reset.
f) The system will email you a temporary password from with a subject of "WebAdvisor response". There is a line with your temporary password, similar to wand94kee. (Don't use the period.)
g) Login with your new password. The system will prompt you to change your password.
 

Class Search

 Step by Step

You can use the Class Search without logging into MyNC. Click the button that looks like a magnifying glass in the green bar at the top of any page.

Using the Worksheet

My Registration Worksheet is a list of classes you’re interested in taking this quarter. Use the worksheet to look for time and location conflicts. You must add classes to the worksheet before you can register.

If you prefer to use a paper worksheet, you can download and print out the Trial Schedule Worksheet. However, you will have to transfer the information to My Registration Worksheet in MyNC before you can register online.

Registering for Classes

Classes on your worksheet can be registered all at once or one at a time.

My Class Schedule

View a list of your registered classes for the current quarter.

Classes can be added or dropped from your schedule using MyNC until the last day to add a class for the current quarter. This date varies by quarter and can be found on the Academic Calendar.

UserName for Current Faculty

If you already have a username and password for WebAdvisor to view your pay information, your username and password WILL NOT CHANGE for MyNC.

UserName for New Faculty

Your username will be the following in lower case:

• Your first initial
• Followed by your middle initial
• Followed by your entire last name

Password

The first time you login, your password will be pre-set to the last six digits of your social security number. Once you login, first time users will be forced to change their password. Passwords must be 6-9 characters in length and include both letters and numbers. You will be required to change your password every 30 days. The system remembers the last four passwords used.

MyNC will require you to change your password monthly. If you forget your password, follow the link What’s My Password on the MyNC Main Menu.

Spring Quarter 2009 Only

All necessary information from your “MyNCState-Faculty” account has been added to the Faculty menu of MyNC. On the Faculty Menu of MyNC look for a link called Old MyNCState-Faculty Spring 2009. Through this link you can access all of the tools needed for spring quarter, including Class Rosters and Grade entry. 

Please note that when you click on these links, you will be required to login again, this time using your social
security number and PIN you used for logging into “MyNCState-Faculty”.
