What is College Credit Plus?
Parents: Why CCP?
Key Points:
- Cost Savings: Public school students pay no tuition, books, or fees. Nonpublic and Homeschool student families can apply for annual funding.
- Dual Credit: A single course fulfills both high school graduation requirements and college credit.
- Academic Rigor: Students access a wider variety of college-level courses.
- Accelerated Degree: Students can earn college credits, certificates, or an associate degree before graduating high school.
- Transferability: Credits generally transfer to Ohio public universities.
Eligibility & Logistics by the Ohio Dept. of Education & Workforce
- Eligibility: Students must demonstrate “college-readiness” (a remediation-free score on ACT/ACCUPLACER or min. GPA)
- Options: Students can take classes at the high school, online, or on a college campus.
- Support: Students are encouraged to develop a CCP success plan and work with an advisor to map out a pathway toward student’s CCP and career goals.
