For your first term...
  • With these steps, you’ll complete your CCP enrollment checklist and register for courses.
  • Check the status of your CCP Application here, and confirm you’ve completed all supplemental requirements.

*All program requirements must be met and all documents received, to review your application for acceptance.

  • To review your program application for acceptance, NCSC must receive these required items.
    1. Transcript:
High school students, ask your guidance office to send NCSC your transcript with GPA and SSID number.
Middle school students, ask your guidance office to send NCSC your grade report, with GPA and SSID number.
    2. CCP Eligibility Requirement:
This Ohio Requirement can be met in one of 3 ways. Options are listed here, and on this CCP Eligibility Chart (PDF).
    3. CCP Permission Slip:
Have a parent/guardian sign this electronic form, located in your NCSC Admissions Account as Supplemental Items.
    4. Student Questionnaire:
Sign this electronic form in your NCSC Admissions Account under Supplemental Items.
    5. Test Scores (*May be needed if seeking College English, Mathematics or Science courses):
Forward existing ACT or ACCUPLACER scores to NCSC at ccp@ncstatecollege.edu.To review ACCUPLACER test dates at NCSC, review the test center calendar here.

  • Complete your required CCP Orientation here.

    • Self-paced online module to review and complete
    • Answer the questions at the end to complete the orientation requirement

  • Request your first appointment for CCP Advising & Registration, ccp@ncstatecollege.edu.

    • Include:
      • Your first and last name, phone number, and the name of your school
      • A few good times for you to meet, how you prefer to meet (zoom/phone/in-person)
      • Any info that may assist during advising (your schedule, courses or career paths you’re considering, etc.)

*To take courses in English, Math or Science, you may need to schedule the ACCUPLACER. Ensure you provide NCSC with any existing scores (ACT or ACCUPLACER) that may fulfill course prerequisites needed to register.

AFTER your first term...

Each MARCH and OCTOBER, check-in with your CCP advisor.

  • *This will get you ahead of the scheduling rush – registration goes live the following month.

With your advisor you’ll ID your Pathway, build your CCP course plan and secure approval to register, using MyNC.

  • Your Pathway is your Guide to selecting your CCP courses.

When does registration open? (See Academic Calendar)

  • April – for SU or FA courses
  • November – for SP courses

*STUDENT MUST COMPLETE FINAL STEP FOR REGISTRATION in MyNC.

  1. After status of the course(s) in MyNC plan is: “Approved”
  2. Confirm you’ve selected an Open Section (how/where course meets) for each course.
  3. Select ‘Register Now’ to complete your registration in all courses at once. Or select ‘Register’ under each to register for one at a time.

*With a pre-approved plan – use MyNC to finalize your courses as soon as registration begins for CCP/Undeclared students each term.

If your preferred section is closed, that means the course is full. Refer to your second choice, third choice and so on.

A course that is in ‘Planned’ or ‘Approved’ status does not hold a seat for courses that meet at the NCSC campus or Online. These are open to all NCSC students.

Until the course status is ‘Registered, not Started’ you have not yet secured your spot in the course.

For CCP courses that meet at your high school, you do not schedule these through MyNC. Your counselor will submit these student requests to NCSC.

Each student is responsible to seek and complete all necessary requirements for CCP eligibility and college enrollment in your requested courses (e.g. placement testing if needed, required documents, etc.).

  • Reflect on your recent term — Where were you challenged? What might help you in the next challenge? Discuss with your advisor and retool for next term.

Follow the steps below for class registration.

  • Then, schedule a check-in with your CCP advisor to:

    • Review your course plan for the upcoming year
    • Receive approval to register

    When planning courses, ask yourself:
    1. Why am I choosing this course?
    2. Does it support my pathway for college or career (aligning with career goals or a college requirement)?
      1. Is it for a high school requirement (graduation, OHSAA eligibility, etc.)?
      2. Is it an OT-36 general education course?
      3. Does it fulfill a major degree requirement?
    3. How am I blocking out my time? Am I reserving enough time each week to complete assignments and do well in the course? Am I also blocking out time to rest and recharge? If no, do I need to scale back on my commitments?
    4. Do I know the NCSC and CCP deadlines, and why they are so important?

Stay within your max credit hours each year (HS and CCP combined):
    • Confirm with your school counselor, the max number of CCP credits you can take and stay within the max number of allowable credits. (For the max credit hours calculation, your counselor will combine the number of your scheduled high school credits, multiply that by 3, and then subtract the result from the number of max allowable credits for the year.)
    • Provide this info to your CCP advisor.
    • Courses that exceed your max allowable credit hours are not covered by the CCP program funding or benefits. If desired, students can elect to take additional courses and self-pay for the tuition, fees and course materials. For this, student and parent/guardian are financially responsible and arrange payment with the Cashier’s Office.

  • Any changes you make to your MyNC course plan will need approved by a CCP advisor so that you can  select your preferred course section (meeting details) and register yourself in the course section.

In MyNC once a course is listed as “approved”, then you (the student) must complete step 3), which is to select an open section of the course, and then click the ‘Register’ button to reserve your seat.

    • In MyNC, review the open sections for location and delivery options. Select an open section, add it to your plan for the term, and then select ‘Register’ for each course.
    • *Failure to complete this third and final step, means you have not actually registered or enrolled in a course.
      • Once done, confirm each course has a status of ‘Registered’, and the total number of enrolled credits is correct.
    • If your first choice is unavailable, move to your next choice. Repeat the process for advisor approval, if needed.

  • Share/Confirm your CCP Class Schedule with your School Counselor.

    • Each semester you must provide your counselor a copy of your schedule, along with any changes you make.
    • **Your CCP schedule must stay within the annual CCP max credit hours ORC 3365.06 (PDF).
    • If you exceed your permitted CCP credit hours, then you and your family must self-pay for the full cost of the course(s), including fees and books.

  2. College Admission for CCP & Enrollment (Set by each college) – all items must be completed and all criteria met
  3. CCP Course Planning & Registration (Set by each college) – all prerequisites, or placement requirements must be met.

  • Placement/enrollment in college-level English, Mathematics and some Science (regardless of GPA)
    • *CCP eligibility is a separate requirement from course prerequisites/placement.

Ok, I think I've got it. Now...
remind me. How do I become CCP eligible?

  • Review the options on the Ohio CCP Eligibility Chart, here (PDF).

Why CCP?
The purpose of the CCP program is to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to eligible students in grades 7-12, at no or limited costs to students and families.
