This program prepares people for careers involving the production and/or maintenance and repair of various types of dies, machining, super-abrasive cutting, grinding, and CNC programming and operations used in industrial manufacturing. 

Where You Could Go

All small to heavy manufacturing industries from food & beverage, automotive, airplane, road equipment, to pulp and paper, need tooling. Dies touch our daily lives and are the starting point for equipment parts that are used in the manufacture of most of what we use.

NC State has over 40 agreements with four-year colleges and universities, to provide a smooth transition for students who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Through university partnerships, some four-year courses are also offered on the NC State campus or online.

What You Could Earn

Average starting salary in the north central Ohio area is approximately $29,000 annually. The average salary with additional experience and/or training is $55,000 annually.

Nearly 100% of our Tool & Die graduates are employed in the field.
