NC State Receives Award to Enhance Student Success

September 4, 2014 Mansfield, Ohio. This week, the U.S. Department of Education awarded $2,008,509 in Title III grant dollars to North Central State College for Advising Across the Continuum, a proposal to increase student success through additional advising.

LaTonya Green

LaTonya GreenInjuries sustained in an accident in 2011 helped change LaTonya Green’s life. She sustained a broken pelvis and internal injuries after being run over three times by an SUV. “I was in the hospital for two months and in a wheelchair for nine months after that,” Green recalls. “The doctors weren’t sure if I would ever be able to walk normally again."

Gallery Exhibition - "Weathering Time" Mon, Mar 2nd
Pearl Conard Gallery

Nancy Floyd is a professor of photography in the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State University. Her exhibition record includes shows in the United States, Japan, and Europe with 22 solo and over 70 group shows. Weathering Time is Floyd's ongoing photographic record of over 2,500 self-portraits taken since 1982. Floyd received her MFA from the University of Texas at Austin, and MA from Columbia College Chicago, and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. A gallery talk and reception will be held Monday, February 23, from 12:35-2:00 pm.

Alexandra McHale was thrilled to make her network debut on NBCs The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She’s also been seen on CBS’s The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and New Joke City with Robert Klein on the Metro Channel. She is a frequent commentator on several VH1 shows. Alexandra has headlined at over 300 colleges, has been voted Female Entertainer of the Year by readers of Campus Activities Magazine, as well as nominated for Female Entertainer of the Year, Comedian of the Year, and Performer of the Year by the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities. In the past year she debuted her new website, Townhouse 84, which is dedicated to Real Life insight for College Women. Free food for all in attendance.
