NC State first implemented Achieving the Dream interventions in fall 2006. The interventions were wide ranging and impacted college assessment/placement policies, student support services such as advising and course delivery. In addition, it has attempted to work with partners such as secondary schools and adult education to ease the transition of students to college toward meeting success goals.
NC State has modified and added to its AtD intervention strategies based on continuing analysis of intervention effectiveness. Several of these strategies were scaled up to address larger student audience with investment from grant funding from the Developmental Education Initiative.
Brief reports in this section describe NC State's strategies, including expansion under the DEI program. Soon, each DEI intervention strategy at NC State will have its own web page on this site.
