What are the steps for enrollment at NC State?

The first step is to complete the application for admission to NC State. No application fee. The application can be located online or contact the Admissions Office 419.755.4761 to request a paper version of the application be mailed to you.

The second step for enrollment is to call the Admissions Office and schedule your Personalized Enrollment Session with an Admissions Recruiting & Advising Representative 419.755.4761

Does NC State have admission requirements for entry?

NC State is open enrollment. To be eligible for financial assistance a student must be able to show proof of HS Diploma or GED. To begin the process of Admission to NC State a student should complete the application for admission and schedule an appointment to meet with an Admissions Representative. A personalized enrollment plan will be determined at the appointment.

Where is the Admissions Office located?

NC State is nestled between StRt 39 and Lexington-Springmill Rd N. Admissions is located in the Kee Hall Building. Entering Kenwood Circle from StRt 39 Kee Hall is the first building on your right. Entering Kenwood Circle from Lexington-Springmill Rd N - Kee Hall is the first building on your left. Free parking is available directly adjacent the building.

What should I bring to my appointment with Admissions?

The Admissions Recruiting & Advising Representatives do not require that you bring anything with you to your Personalized Enrollment Session.

If you have access to any of the items listed below it is recommended that you bring them with you:

  • High School Diploma
  • GED
  • High School Transcript
  • ACT Scores
  • College Transcript

Can I get Financial Assistance? How do I apply?

Financial Aid is available for NC State students attending college full-time or part-time. To apply for financial assistance a student will initially complete the FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid. More information on financial aid will be available at your Personalized Enrollment Session or you may visit our Financial Aid Office website.

How many credit hours is full-time/part-time?

A full-time student will register for 12 or more credit hours per quarter and a part-time student will register for 11 or less credit hours per quarter.

Are there wait lists for the health programs?

In 2007 the wait list process for all health programs was discontinued. Students will now enter an application pool once the program admission procedures are completed. For more information on this process please contact: Linda Nicol, Health & Public Service 419.755.5635 lnicol@ncstatecollege.edu

Will my credits transfer to other colleges/universities?

There are many options for students interested in transfer to a 4-year university: general education classes; transfer module; 2-year graduate to 4-year; coming soon - Associate of Arts (General Studies) or Associate of Science (General Studies).

Do you have career assistance to help me choose a major?

Are you undecided on which career path to pursue? Students enter college often feel confused about what career is right for them. Some students just don’t know and others have a list of needs to consider into the decision. Do you have online classes/programs?

NC State does not have online programs. We do offer many classes online and strive to continue each academic year to increase this number available to students. Other formats include video classes, video- conference classes and the traditional classroom classes. Each quarter a student may select any combination of these formats.

Is there childcare available for my children?

The Child Development Center enrolls children from 6 weeks of age through kindergarten and provides family support, guidance, and education. Applications may be picked up at the front desk between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. 419.755.5600

Yes.
