The Mechanical Engineering Technician may be involved with a variety of tasks on the job. Although most mechanical engineering technicians find jobs in manufacturing industries, they may also work for government agencies or in research and development activities. Jobs may be situated in the production shop, the design engineering offices, research laboratories, in the field traveling to onsite locations, or in technical sales.
