Students who complete this certificate program develop the skills to work with a teacher in a classroom environment.  An educational assistant is trained in behavior management, professionalism, family/parenting, counseling, crisis management, and working with special needs children.  There is a total of 350 practicum hours in a classroom supervised by a trained educational assistant teacher in this certificate.  A minimum grade of C- is required in each course and an overall grade-point average of 2.00.  An acceptable Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI&I) report is required in order to begin the practicum sequence.

Upon successful completion of a certificate program, a “Certificate Request” form (in PDF fromat) must be completed in the Student Records Office in order to receive a certificate.
