"You have to know the past to understand the present." - Carl Sagan

HST121 - Section 92
U.S. History to 1815
Online

Summary -
How has American culture grown to become the international force it is today? How has our society developed to arrive where we are? This course will answer these questions through a study of how the American government and the U.S. legal system were created by the Framers; how American art, literature, and philosophy developed their own independent existence; and how American culture and politics were influenced by international events. You will gain a broad context for current events, modern American society, art and government.

Pre-Requisites -
The course will make extensive use of Blackboard, NC Student e-mail and online resources, so if you are uncomfortable using these technologies, or do not have regular access to a computer with Internet access, you will have difficulty being successful in this course.
