Hi!
I’m Beth, associate professor in the Arts & Sciences division at NC State College.
I’m fortunate to work with a great team of professional staff and
faculty here, all of whom are trained and dedicated to meeting
your needs.
In terms of my education and training, I was a faculty member in the
English Department and then Director of the Student Success Center before
resuming my
current position as a full-time faculty
member in the English department.
Both my bachelor’s and my master’s degrees are in English, and
I’ve always enjoyed working one-on-one with students who are struggling with
writing assignments. Part of my
job, as I see it, is to take some of the “mystery” out of writing.
It’s been my experience that once a student really understands an
instructor’s expectations, the assignment pretty much takes care of itself!
I have a lot of admiration
and respect for the students I’m fortunate enough to work with. I find that
NC State students tend to be hard-working, capable individuals, determined to
make a better life for themselves and their families.
And I thank those students for all they have taught me in the 15
years I’ve been here at the College.
