Dell Dimension 8100 Desktop Computers

Lab's Dell DesktopsBoth lab Dell Desktop computers have had their Operating Systems upgraded to Windows XP

The Faculty Multimedia Lab is equipped with two Dell Dimension 8100 Desktop Computers. Each of these computers has a 1.3 Gigahertz Pentium 4 Processor.

Each of these computers is equipped with a floppy diskette drive, a DVD-ROM drive that can read DVD as well as regular CD-ROM discs, and each is also equipped with a CD-R/RW drive that can write or "burn" data onto blank CD-R or CD-RW discs.

Each of these Desktop Computers is also equipped with USB and FireWire Ports to connect USB or FireWire devices such as the Elura DV Camcorder or the Western Digital External Hard Drive to these machines.

Each of these Desktop Computers has a wide variety of software including:

  • Acrobat PDFWriter
  • Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4
  • Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition 1.1
  • Adobe Photoshop 6
  • InterVideo WinDVD 2000
  • MGI VideoWave III
  • Microsoft Access 2000
  • Microsoft Excel 2000
  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000
  • Microsoft FrontPage Express
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
  • Microsoft Word 2000
  • & more...

For projects where specialized software is needed, legally licensed software can be installed by the Instructional Technologist. 

These Computers are connected to the Internet, can print to the Lab's Tektronix Color Printer and can be connected to our Novell network upon request.

These Desktops are digital workstations that can be used to create a wide variety of multimedia creations from Powerpoint presentations to web pages to videos to Acrobat .pdf files to digital imagery and beyond...
