Directed Study is a learning method whereby mature, self-directed students can acquire competencies as specified in a course outline and syllabus. Under the direction of a faculty member who serves as a resource person, a student may pursue a plan of study to acquire the prescribed competencies. A nonrefundable surcharge per credit hour attempted is added to fees charged for courses taken by directed study.
A student who wishes to take a course via the directed study method should contact the appropriate division dean. A number of restrictions apply.
